Saint Valentine's Day or … International book giving day?

Saint Valentine's Day or … International book giving day?

In February all my thoughts are about spring… And you? What do you associate with this month?
Of course, I think, it's Valentine's Day, but not only!
I’d like to remind about International book giving day. The purpose of this day is to promote books (and reading of course). Would you like to take part? It's so simple to join!

3 simple ideas for it

1. You can present the right book for your fav person. It is so simple and at the same time valuable gift.
2. Just leave a book. On the street, in a shopping mall or park – the place doesn't matter, the book will find its readers.
3. And one more way – you can sacrifice books. It’s some kind of charity – and it’s good idea.

Have a great double celebration!

Quotation

Really true words by Elon Musk. Too simple for understanding and too complicated for every morning realisation.

Winter associations: -21°C, snowdrifts & «Norwegian wood»

Now we have a really snow weather in my home city, I can say I live in a white kingdom. Some days ago, I woke up and could see nothing but snow, extremely much snow. I went through snowdrifts  to the bus stop and tried to remember something or other.
A few hours later I understood, I had remembered «Norwegian wood» by Haruki Murakami.
A secret intimate winter landscape (and the temperature also) refreshed my memory.

There were so cozy memoirs. This flashback was about my staying in Berlin last August.
It was wonderful time and apart from that, it was productive for reading books, I think it was due to lack of my mother tongue,
that time I had been reading in Russian.

One night (after some crazy happy day) I was sitting in the armchair and was choosing a book on my IPad. I don’t know why I decided that it was the right time to read a book by Japanese novelist but anyway.
When you are reading «Norwegian wood», you ‘re living in another world. You’re feeling time differently, you’re thinking differently.
I fell in love with a new culture and emotional sensation. It opened a new vision.
If you want to know Japanese culture a little, look into the matter of the complex emotional young people' relationships in 1960s.
I recommend to read «Norwegian Wood». I prefer to read this book when I am in a noisy crowd or somewhere outside alone. This story gives two opposite feelings - peace and a screaming despair. It is a prominent feature of this novel.

When you ‘re reading unusual exotic books you can see general things in a new light. That's the reason why I like Asian literature.
It inspires me, it's like a journey – you can find an extraordinary atmosphere.
